Roddy Smith has been a performing guitarist for 35 years. Through
rock, country, jazz, he has become one of the most versatile
guitarists on the scene. While much of his bio is shared with
brother Tim, he took a different path. He received a Masters
Degree from Appalachian State University in English literature,
and has authored acclaimed books on religious history. He also
has performed and/or recorded with artists like Boots Randolph,
Johnny Cash, Joe Sample, Bill Evans, The Moody Brothers, Radney
Foster, and many others. But his true voice is found in the
music of Mr. Groove, where he slides from acoustic, to jazz,
and to rock--sometimes all in the same song. His composing is
a vital part of the Mr. Groove sound.
